A high-contrast serif with sharply tapered strokes and chiseled, wedge-like terminals that feel cut rather than smoothly bracketed. The stress reads calligraphic, with thick–thin modulation that can swing abruptly, and many joints show pointed, ink-trap-like notches that create a faceted texture. Serifs are fine and blade-like, often asymmetric, and the outlines have a slightly irregular, hand-worked geometry that gives letters a lively, variable rhythm. Lowercase forms keep a moderate x-height with narrow counters in places, while capitals are prominent and sculptural; figures share the same angular, carved construction and strong contrast.

Best suited to headlines, titling, and short editorial passages where its contrast and angular detailing can be appreciated. It can work for book covers, event posters, and brand marks that want a literary or historic voice, and for pull quotes or section openers where a dramatic serif texture is desirable.

The overall tone is theatrical and historic, evoking engraved titling, vintage book typography, and display work with a slightly gothic or fantastical edge. Its sharp joins and high contrast create a sense of tension and elegance at once, lending authority while remaining expressive and characterful.

The design appears intended to translate broad-nib or engraved lettering into a serif text/display hybrid, emphasizing sharp modulation, carved terminals, and a slightly irregular rhythm to achieve a distinctive, period-tinged personality.

In text settings the sharp thinning and pointed terminals produce a sparkling, broken texture that reads best when given ample size and air. The design’s deliberate irregularities and faceting make it feel less formal than classic book faces, while still retaining an editorial seriousness.
