A robust serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and sharply defined, bracketed serifs. Curves are generous and smoothly drawn, while terminals often finish with crisp, wedge-like cuts that add bite in larger sizes. Proportions feel traditionally balanced, with moderate ascenders and descenders and a steady, readable rhythm in running text. Capitals are broad and stately, and the numerals show oldstyle-like movement with varied heights and distinctive shapes.

Well suited to book interiors, long-form editorial, and magazine typography where a traditional serif with strong presence is desired. It also works effectively for headlines, pull quotes, and brand wordmarks that want a classic, authoritative tone with crisp detail.

The overall tone is classic and editorial, projecting authority and a slightly dramatic refinement. Its strong contrast and emphatic serifs give it a confident, traditional voice suited to serious or literary messaging rather than casual informality.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional, text-oriented serif with elevated contrast and distinctive, sharpened terminals—aiming for both readability in paragraphs and a confident, classical character in display applications.

The lowercase shows a distinctly calligraphic influence in the way joins and curves flare into serifs, and the punctuation and figures carry the same sculpted, high-contrast logic. At text sizes it reads as dense and substantial, while at display sizes the sharp terminals and contrast become a defining visual feature.
