A sturdy text serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and compact proportions. Serifs are clearly bracketed with a slightly flared, carved feel, and many strokes finish in rounded ball terminals that add softness to the otherwise weighty structure. Counters are relatively small and the rhythm is dense, giving lines a dark, even color. The lowercase shows a two-storey a with a teardrop ear and a single-storey g with a generous lower loop; the figures appear oldstyle and sit comfortably with the lowercase texture.

Well-suited to book interiors and editorial layouts where a classic, emphatic serif texture is desired. The heavy presence and distinctive terminals also make it effective for headlines, pull quotes, and heritage-leaning packaging or stationery where a traditional voice is important.
