An upright serif with strongly textured outlines and uneven interior counters that mimic worn ink or distressed letterpress printing. Strokes show sharp, wedge-like terminals and irregular serifs, creating a chiseled, slightly jagged silhouette across both uppercase and lowercase. Contrast is pronounced, with thin joins and heavier verticals, and the overall rhythm remains readable despite the deliberate roughness. Numerals follow the same roughened treatment with sturdy, classic proportions and consistent texture.

Well-suited for display typography in posters, titles, book covers, and event graphics where a vintage or gritty tone is desired. It can also work for packaging, labels, and identity elements that benefit from an aged, tactile impression, especially at medium to large sizes where the distressing reads clearly.

The texture and sharp, timeworn edges suggest age and handling—evoking antique printing, folk ephemera, and gothic-leaning storytelling. It feels assertive and atmospheric, with a handcrafted grit that reads as historic, mysterious, and slightly dramatic rather than polished or corporate.

The design appears intended to deliver a classic serif voice with an intentionally worn, printed texture—capturing the feel of old paper, rough impression, and imperfect ink coverage while keeping familiar proportions for legibility.

The distressed effect is consistent across the character set, with small bites, nicks, and irregular edges that become more prominent at larger sizes. In paragraph samples the rough texture adds character while slightly reducing smoothness, making it best when the distressed surface is a feature, not a flaw.
