A high-contrast serif with a sculpted, old-style construction and pronounced thick–thin modulation. Serifs are bracketed and often slightly flared, giving terminals a carved, wedge-like finish rather than a blunt slab. Curves show a gently calligraphic stress; bowls and counters feel rounded and generous, while stems stay firm and vertical. Uppercase proportions are robust and steady, and the lowercase carries a traditional rhythm with compact joins, a two-storey “g,” and a notably strong, curled descender in “y.” Numerals follow the same classical logic with clear contrast and a slightly varied, text-friendly presence.

Well-suited to headlines, subheads, and short passages that benefit from a classical, high-contrast serif voice—such as editorial layouts, book covers, cultural posters, and premium packaging. It can also work for pull quotes and titling where a strong, traditional texture is desired.

The overall tone is traditional and assertive, with a bookish, institutional character. Its sharp contrast and sculpted serifs create a sense of formality and seriousness, while the subtle calligraphic influence keeps it from feeling mechanical.

The design appears intended as a conventional, text-oriented serif refined for strong presence: combining classical proportions and bracketed serifs with emphatic contrast to deliver authority and readability in editorial and publishing contexts.

At display sizes the crisp serifs and deep ink traps between thick strokes create strong texture and a distinctly editorial color. The italic is not shown; the samples suggest the design’s strength is in upright, high-impact settings where stroke contrast can read cleanly.
