A condensed, vertical display serif with blackletter influence, built from straight, chiseled strokes and sharp, wedge-like terminals. The forms favor rectangular counters, clipped corners, and abrupt joins, creating a faceted, carved look rather than smooth curvature. Contrast is expressed through strong thick stems paired with finer connecting strokes, while the caps and ascenders rise tall and rigid, reinforcing a disciplined, architectural rhythm. Lowercase characters remain narrow with compact bowls and frequent vertical emphasis; punctuation and figures follow the same angular, cut-in styling for a consistent texture in text lines.

Best suited to display applications where its angular detailing can be appreciated, such as posters, mastheads, album or book titling, and identity marks. It also works well for labels and packaging that aim for a traditional or craft-forward impression. For extended reading or small sizes, it will generally perform better in short bursts (titles, pull quotes, chapter openers) than in body text.

The overall tone feels historic and ceremonial, with a stern, fortified character that reads as traditional and formal. Its sharp geometry and blackletter cues suggest authority and gravitas, leaning toward a dramatic, old-world mood rather than casual friendliness.

The design appears intended to modernize blackletter and incised serif cues into a compact, high-impact display face with a carved, architectural finish. Its narrow proportions and strong vertical cadence prioritize presence and period flavor over neutrality.

Letter construction often relies on squared apertures and notched transitions that create a distinctive sparkle at larger sizes. The dense vertical rhythm can make long passages feel heavy, but it produces a striking, uniform color in headings and short settings.
