A slanted serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and crisp, bracketed serifs that often read as wedge-like at the terminals. The curves are full and slightly compressed in places, while the straight strokes keep a taut, forward-leaning rhythm. Counters are generally open and the joins show a subtly calligraphic stress, giving the letterforms a lively, engraved feel. Numerals follow the same italic, high-contrast construction, with compact shapes and sharp finishing strokes.

Well-suited to editorial typography where italic emphasis needs to carry real presence—magazine features, book interiors for highlighted passages, and strongly voiced pull quotes. It also works effectively for headlines and subheads that benefit from a classic serif tone with energetic forward motion.

The overall tone is traditional and literary, with a confident, formal voice. Its strong diagonal movement and sharp serifs add urgency and emphasis, making text feel editorial and purposeful rather than delicate or airy.

The design appears intended to provide a robust, high-contrast italic with traditional serif structure, combining classic bookish cues with enough weight and sharpness to stand out in editorial layouts.

Uppercase forms are sturdy and display-like, while the lowercase shows more pronounced cursive influence (notably in the a, f, g, and y), which increases texture and motion in running text. The weight and contrast create a strong page color, especially in larger sizes and emphasized settings.
