A compact, old-style serif with sturdy verticals and noticeably tapered, calligraphic joins. Strokes show a slightly roughened, inked edge and small swelling at terminals, giving the contours an irregular, printed texture rather than a sterile digital finish. Serifs are bracketed and wedge-like, with short, confident feet and a lively rhythm across words. Counters are relatively tight and the overall fit reads dense and robust, with a clear contrast between thick stems and finer connecting strokes.

Best suited to display through large text settings where its textured edges and lively serif work can be appreciated—book covers, editorial headlines, pull quotes, and heritage-leaning packaging. It can also work for short-form body copy when a darker, classic printed color is desired, especially in branding that benefits from an aged or craft sensibility.

The tone feels antique and bookish, like letterpress or early print influenced by a broad-nib pen. Its slight roughness adds a human, workshop quality—less formal than a modern text face, more atmospheric and story-driven. The result is confident and traditional, with a hint of rustic charm.

The design appears intended to evoke traditional, humanist printing with a deliberately tactile edge: strong readability, familiar old-style proportions, and a controlled roughness that suggests ink on paper. It prioritizes character and atmosphere while retaining a disciplined, text-oriented structure.

Uppercase forms have a strong presence and slightly uneven, hand-inked modulation that keeps large sizes from feeling rigid. In the sample text, the dark color builds quickly, so spacing and line breaks will matter for long passages. Numerals match the cap height and weight well, contributing to a cohesive, editorial texture.
