A high-contrast serif with pronounced vertical stress, combining weighty main stems with notably fine connecting strokes and hairline serifs. The outlines feel crisp and slightly irregular at the edges, giving an inked/printed impression rather than a perfectly machined one. Serifs are small and sharp with minimal bracketing, and many terminals end in narrow wedges or tapered tips. Proportions lean compact with sturdy capitals and relatively narrow counters, while lowercase forms keep a steady, readable structure and a traditional two-storey ‘a’. Numerals follow the same contrast pattern, with strong verticals and delicate joins that emphasize a lively light–dark rhythm in text.

Best suited to headlines, subheads, pull quotes, and other display settings where its contrast and sharp serifs can shine. It also works well for editorial and book-cover typography that aims for a traditional, print-forward voice, and for branding that needs a confident, classic presence.

The overall tone is classic and authoritative, with a dramatic sparkle from the extreme thick–thin transitions. It reads as literary and editorial, evoking traditional printing and formal composition while retaining a slightly roughened, tactile character.

The design appears intended to deliver a traditional serif voice with heightened contrast and a crisp, engraved-like finish, prioritizing strong vertical rhythm and visual drama for impactful setting.

In running text, the strong verticals create a clear columnar rhythm, and the hairlines add brightness that can feel energetic at larger sizes. The slightly uneven contour quality contributes warmth and personality, helping it avoid an overly pristine, fashion-magazine chill.
