A sturdy serif with pronounced slab-like terminals and a slightly bracketed, chiseled feel at joins. Strokes show noticeable thick–thin modulation, with firm vertical stems and flatter, weighty serifs that give the letters a planted stance. Capitals are broad and stately, while lowercase forms are compact with sturdy bowls and short, squared-off finishing strokes; several letters feature subtle beak-like or wedge endings. Counters are relatively tight, contributing to a dense, punchy color in text, and the figures match the overall heft with strong, simple forms.

Well-suited to headlines, subheads, and pull quotes where a strong, traditional voice is needed. It can also work for branding and packaging that benefits from a heritage or collegiate feel, and for poster typography that needs high-impact letterforms at larger sizes.

The overall tone is authoritative and traditional, with a collegiate and editorial flavor. Its heavy serifs and compact rhythm feel dependable and emphatic, lending a classic, print-forward personality rather than a delicate or minimal one.

The design appears intended to deliver a bold, classic serif voice with strong slabs and clear letter shapes that hold up in prominent display settings. Its compact internal spacing and weighty terminals suggest an emphasis on impact and a confident, print-oriented presence.

The alphabet shows consistent, forceful serif treatment across rounds and straights, and the italic is not present in the samples. The heavier text color makes it especially assertive in short lines, while longer passages read as bold and compact due to the tighter counters and strong terminals.
