A distressed, display-oriented serif with heavily eroded contours that create a jagged, torn-paper edge on every stroke. Letterforms keep a largely traditional, oldstyle-inspired skeleton—noticeable wedge-like serifs and compact bowls—but the outline roughening dominates the silhouette and introduces lively, uneven rhythm. Strokes appear relatively sturdy with moderate contrast, and counters remain mostly open enough for short text despite the gritty perimeter noise. Spacing reads slightly irregular because the texture protrudes differently from glyph to glyph, enhancing the handmade feel.

Best suited to headlines and short bursts of text where the distressed edge can read as intentional texture—posters, packaging accents, album/playlist artwork, and title treatments for games or seasonal events. It can work for brief subheads, but extended body text may feel visually noisy at smaller sizes; giving it room and strong contrast against the background helps.

The overall tone is gritty and theatrical, blending antique bookish cues with a mischievous, haunted energy. It feels like type that’s been weathered, stamped, or printed on rough stock—playful but a bit ominous. The texture adds attitude and motion, giving headlines a loud, unruly presence.

The design appears intended to deliver a classic serif base with a dramatic distressed overlay, creating instant character and a tactile, printed-in-ink impression. Its goal is impact and atmosphere—communicating grit, mystery, and playful menace in display settings.

Uppercase forms feel compact and emphatic, while lowercase maintains legibility through clear stems and recognizable shapes. Numerals match the same distressed treatment, keeping the set visually unified. The rough edge treatment is consistent across glyphs, producing a cohesive “scuffed” voice rather than random damage.
