A high-contrast serif with strongly bracketed, wedge-like serifs and crisp, sculpted terminals. Strokes move from thick verticals to hairline joins, creating a pronounced black-and-white rhythm, while the curves feel slightly pinched in places for extra bite. Proportions are broadly set with generous capitals and sturdy bowls, and the lowercase shows compact counters with a traditional two-storey “a” and a ball-terminal “j.” Numerals are weighty and oldstyle-leaning in feel, with distinctive, calligraphic stroke transitions that read clearly at display sizes.

Well-suited to headlines, pull quotes, magazine settings, and book-cover typography where a commanding serif voice is needed. It can also support branding and packaging that aims for heritage, prestige, or classic literary associations, especially when used with comfortable spacing and at sizes that preserve the hairline detail.

The overall tone is classic and authoritative, with a slightly theatrical sharpness from the dramatic contrast and pointed serifs. It suggests traditional print craftsmanship—confident, formal, and slightly ornate—without drifting into decorative novelty.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional serif structure with heightened contrast and sharper, more sculptural detailing for stronger presence in display and titling. It prioritizes a traditional reading skeleton while adding drama through crisp serifs, taut curves, and emphatic thick–thin transitions.

The font’s strong contrast and narrow hairlines make it most visually effective when allowed enough size or print quality to keep the thin strokes from closing or breaking up. Round letters maintain a firm, upright stance, and the set has a consistent, emphatic color suitable for prominent typographic hierarchy.
