A slanted serif with moderate stroke modulation and bracketed, gently tapered serifs. The letterforms show an oldstyle influence: round shapes have a subtly diagonal stress, terminals are softly cupped, and curves transition smoothly into stems. Proportions feel balanced rather than condensed, with a steady rhythm in running text and slightly varied character widths that keep the texture lively. The italic is not overly cursive, but it uses calligraphic joins and angled entry/exit strokes, giving the lowercase an organic flow while the capitals remain crisp and structured.

Well suited to long-form reading such as books, essays, and editorial layouts where an italic serif texture is desirable. It also works effectively for pull quotes, introductions, and refined display lines that benefit from a classical, literary tone without excessive decoration.

The overall tone is traditional and bookish, with a polished, editorial voice. It feels cultured and slightly historic without becoming ornate, conveying seriousness and credibility while still reading smoothly at text sizes.

The design appears intended to provide a conventional, readable serif italic with a distinctly oldstyle flavor—balanced for continuous text, with enough calligraphic character to add warmth and sophistication in editorial typography.

Capitals present strong, stable silhouettes with pronounced serifs, while the lowercase leans into a more handwritten italic gesture, especially in letters like a, e, and g. Numerals align stylistically with the text, maintaining the same measured contrast and slant for consistent color in mixed settings.
