A refined serif with pronounced vertical stress and clear thick–thin modulation. Serifs are sharp and relatively unbracketed, with hairline connections and crisp terminals that keep the texture bright on the page. Capitals read stately and open, while the lowercase shows traditional, bookish forms with a two-storey a and g, a compact ear on g, and a right-leaning, lightly curved italic-like movement in some joins despite the upright stance. Numerals are oldstyle-leaning in feel (with varied silhouettes and lively curves), contributing to a nuanced, text-oriented rhythm.

Performs well in editorial environments such as books, magazines, and essay-like layouts where a traditional serif voice is desired. It can also serve for refined headlines and display lines, especially in larger sizes where the hairlines and sharp serifs can be appreciated. It is a good fit for formal communications like programs, invitations, or institutional materials that benefit from a classic typographic tone.

The overall tone is classical and authoritative, with an editorial seriousness suited to long-form reading. Its contrast and sharp finishing details add a slightly dramatic, cultured flavor—more library and literature than casual or utilitarian.

The design appears intended to deliver a traditional, vertically stressed serif voice with elevated contrast and crisp detailing, balancing readability with a polished, cultured presence. It aims for a familiar literary feel while keeping enough sharpness and openness to work in contemporary editorial settings.

In the sample text, the font produces a distinctly patterned texture: strong verticals anchor lines while hairlines and fine serifs create sparkle at larger sizes. Round letters (C, G, O, Q) show elegant modulation, and the Q’s tail is expressive without becoming ornamental. The spacing feels comfortable and the wide proportions keep counters generous.
