A robust serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and a predominantly vertical stress. Serifs are bracketed and often flare out from the stems, creating wedge-like terminals that feel carved rather than slabby. The overall rhythm is compact and steady, with strong verticals, crisp corners, and pointed apexes on forms like A and V. Lowercase shows a traditional book-face build with a moderate x-height, sturdy bowls, and a two-storey g; numerals are weighty and compact, with the 2 and 3 showing prominent curved joins and the 7 featuring a sharp, angled top.

Best suited to display applications such as headlines, editorial titling, book covers, and strong brand marks where contrast and flare can be appreciated. It can also work for short blocks of text or pull quotes when generous size and leading preserve clarity.

The tone is confident and traditional, with a distinctly editorial voice. Its high-contrast strokes and flared finishing details add a refined, slightly dramatic presence that reads as established and authoritative rather than casual.

The design appears intended to merge classic serif proportions with more emphatic, flared terminals to increase impact and presence. It aims to feel traditional and readable at a glance while adding a distinctive, sculpted finish for attention-grabbing typography.

At larger sizes the flared stroke endings and bracket transitions become a key signature, giving letters a subtly sculpted texture. The heavy weight and tight internal apertures suggest it will project strongly in headlines, while still retaining conventional, familiar letterforms.
