A sculptural serif with strongly modulated strokes and pronounced, wedge-like terminals that read as flared and incised rather than bracketed or slab. Curves are generous but frequently interrupted by sharp, triangular cuts, creating distinctive notches and pointed joins in letters like S, C, G, and 2/3. The uppercase shows a sturdy, display-minded build with compact counters and crisp internal shapes, while the lowercase stays similarly weighty, with a two-storey a and compact bowls that emphasize a dark overall color. Numerals follow the same carved, high-contrast logic, mixing smooth curves with abrupt, chiseled terminals for a dramatic rhythm.

Best suited for display typography where its sculpted terminals and dramatic contrast can be appreciated—magazine headlines, poster titles, branded lockups, and packaging. It can work for short pull quotes or deck copy, but its strong internal cuts and dense color favor larger sizes and moderate line lengths.

The font conveys a bold, theatrical tone—part classic editorial serif, part decorative “carved” lettering. Its sharp incisions and flared ends add a sense of ceremony and intensity, giving text a vintage, headline-forward presence rather than a quiet, bookish voice.

The design appears intended to modernize a classical serif foundation with an expressive, chiseled construction—emphasizing flared terminals, sharp cut-ins, and a bold presence for attention-grabbing display use. It prioritizes distinctive texture and personality over neutrality, aiming to stand out in titles and branded statements.

The design’s signature is the repeated triangular cutting of terminals and internal joins, which creates lively texture and a slightly aggressive sparkle in word shapes. In longer settings the dark weight and frequent angular breaks keep the page energetic, but the distinctive notching can become visually busy at small sizes.
