A serif text face with visibly roughened edges and slightly irregular contours that mimic worn printing or uneven inking. Strokes show moderate thick–thin modulation with blunt, sometimes wedge-like serifs and small nicks along stems and curves. The proportions are fairly compact with a steady vertical rhythm, while letter widths vary enough to keep the texture lively across a line. Counters stay open and readable, and the overall silhouette remains upright and stable despite the distressed detailing.

Well-suited to display and short-to-medium text where a vintage, printed patina is desired—book covers, editorial headlines, posters, album art, and packaging or label systems that benefit from an aged or handcrafted feel. It can also work for thematic pull quotes or section heads where the distressed texture is meant to be part of the voice.

The font projects a timeworn, tactile character—part letterpress, part carved signage—balancing readability with a rugged, story-rich surface. Its texture adds grit and atmosphere, lending a slightly gothic, mysterious edge without tipping into ornament for ornament’s sake.

The design appears intended to deliver a classic serif reading structure while adding controlled distress to evoke age, rough production methods, and physical materiality. It aims to feel authentic and atmospheric, providing instant period flavor without sacrificing basic legibility.

Distress is consistent across caps, lowercase, and numerals, reading as edge wear rather than heavy splatter, so the texture feels integrated into the design. In running text the roughness creates a dark, peppered color, especially at larger sizes where the irregularities become a prominent stylistic feature.
