A sturdy slab-serif with pronounced, mostly bracketed serifs and a compact, strongly vertical build. Stems are thick and confident, with noticeable contrast that shows up especially in rounded letters and diagonals. Counters are relatively tight, terminals are blunt, and the joins sometimes suggest subtle notching/ink-trap behavior, giving the silhouettes a slightly carved, print-forward feel. The lowercase is compact with a solid x-height and weighty shoulders; numerals are robust and evenly colored, designed to hold up at display sizes.

Best suited to headlines, decks, pull quotes, and poster-style typography where weight and structure are an advantage. It can also support short-form editorial copy at larger sizes, as well as labels and packaging that benefit from a classic, sturdy slab-serif voice.

The overall tone is assertive and traditional, with a no-nonsense, workmanlike character. It reads as editorial and heritage-minded—more “ink on paper” than sleek digital—while the bold slabs add a hint of collegiate or poster typography energy.

The design appears aimed at delivering high-impact readability with a traditional slab-serif presence, balancing strong serifs and controlled contrast to create a confident, print-oriented texture.

Spacing and rhythm favor impact over delicacy, producing a dark, consistent texture in paragraphs at large sizes. The slabs remain visually stable across curves and diagonals, and the strong serifs create clear word shapes and emphatic line endings in headlines.
