A decorative serif with a rough, ink-worn texture and irregular outlines that mimic distressed printing or a scratchy pen. Strokes show modest contrast with frequent thinning at turns and swelling on verticals, while terminals often flare into small hooks, wedges, or teardrop-like ends. Letterforms lean on oldstyle proportions: rounded bowls, slightly uneven curves, and lively joins that create a jittery baseline rhythm without actually slanting. Counters stay fairly open, but edges are consistently broken and frayed, giving the whole design a mottled, organic surface.

Best suited to short-form display use such as posters, titles, and cover typography where the distressed texture can be appreciated at larger sizes. It can also work well for themed packaging, labels, and event materials—especially where a vintage, occult, or spooky atmosphere is desired. For long passages of small text, the rough edges and energetic shapes may reduce clarity.

The overall tone feels gothic and story-driven—suggesting haunted ephemera, apothecary labels, and vintage chapbooks. Its handmade roughness reads as mysterious and theatrical rather than purely grunge, with a touch of whimsical macabre in the curving swashes and hooked serifs.

The design appears intended to evoke an antiquated, ink-printed feel with deliberate wear and irregularity, combining oldstyle serif structure with theatrical, slightly calligraphic detailing. Its purpose is to provide strong character and mood in headlines and themed branding rather than neutral readability.

Capitals are especially expressive, with distinctive hooked strokes and uneven shoulders that make them stand out in display settings. Numerals follow the same distressed treatment, with quirky curves and slightly inconsistent widths that reinforce the handcrafted, aged impression.
