A high-contrast italic serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and sharp, bracketed wedge serifs. The forms lean with a steady rightward slant and show a lively, calligraphic stress, especially in curved letters where weight concentrates along the diagonal. Capitals are broad and stately with crisp terminals, while the lowercase is compact and energetic, featuring tight apertures, a single-storey “g,” and a strong, descending “f.” Numerals follow the same contrasty, old-style flavor with angled entry strokes and tapered finishes, giving the overall texture a dark, rhythmic color in text.

Well suited to editorial typography such as magazine headlines, deck copy, pull quotes, and book or chapter titles where an italic voice is desired without sacrificing authority. It also works for formal announcements or branding that benefits from a classic serif presence and strong typographic emphasis.

The font conveys a traditional, editorial tone with a confident, slightly dramatic flair. Its italic movement and sharp serifs add urgency and emphasis, while the classic proportions keep it anchored in bookish, established typography.

The design appears intended as a conventional, print-oriented serif italic that delivers emphasis with refined contrast and traditional detailing. Its goal is to read as familiar and authoritative while adding a dynamic, expressive slant for display and highlighted text.

In the sample text, the bold italic color holds together as a cohesive headline or standfirst style, with noticeable snap at joins and terminals that keeps letterforms crisp at larger sizes. The spacing appears tuned for continuous reading, producing a smooth, rolling rhythm rather than a rigid, mechanical cadence.
