A robust serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and sturdy, bracketed serifs. The letterforms are broad and steady, with mostly vertical stress, compact interior counters, and slightly flared joins that create a confident rhythm at large sizes. Curves show subtle teardrop/ball-like terminals in places (notably in lowercase), while capitals maintain a structured, inscriptional feel with strong horizontals. Numerals are weighty and traditional in proportion, matching the dense color and high contrast of the text.

Well suited to display roles where strong typographic presence is needed: headlines, pull quotes, posters, and cover typography. It can also serve for editorial branding and section headers where a traditional serif voice with high contrast and dense color is desired.

The overall tone is formal and assertive, with a classic book-and-newspaper sensibility. Its heavy color and crisp serifs convey authority and gravitas, while the rounded terminals add a faintly warm, vintage flavor rather than a purely austere one.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional serif reading voice with heightened weight and contrast for impact. It aims to balance classic, print-oriented forms with a bold, attention-getting texture appropriate for prominent typographic hierarchy.

At heavier settings the counters and apertures become notably tight, which increases impact but can reduce clarity in smaller sizes. The shapes remain upright and stable, producing a consistent, old-style editorial texture across mixed-case text and figures.
