A robust slab-serif with bracketed, blocky serifs and a firm, weighty presence. Stems are heavy with noticeable (but not extreme) stroke modulation, and curves are generously rounded, giving counters a slightly softened, ink-on-paper feel. The uppercase is broad and stable, while the lowercase shows classic book-serif construction with a two-storey “a,” a looped “g,” and a wedge-like, calligraphic ear on “r.” Terminals and joins often form small notches and compact corners that add texture at larger sizes, and the numerals are sturdy and old-style in spirit, with varied widths and strong baseline weight.

Well-suited for headlines and subheads in magazines, newspapers, and longform editorial design, as well as book covers and branding that benefit from a classic, trustworthy voice. The strong serifs and dense strokes also make it effective for posters and signage where a traditional, print-forward look is desired.

The overall tone reads traditional and authoritative—reminiscent of editorial headlines, academic publishing, and institutional print. Its sturdy slabs and restrained contrast project confidence and seriousness, while the rounded curves keep it from feeling overly rigid or mechanical.

Likely drawn to deliver a classic slab-serif voice with strong display impact—combining sturdy, bracketed slabs and moderate modulation to balance authority with warmth and readability. The design emphasizes confident shapes and a pronounced rhythm for prominent typographic use.

Spacing appears comfortable for display text, with wide capitals and substantial serif footprints that create a pronounced horizontal rhythm. The shapes show a slightly “engraved” or inked character through small interior nicks and tapered joins, which can add richness in larger settings.
