A robust slab-serif with heavy, rectangular serifs and a clearly bracketed transition into the stems. Strokes show noticeable contrast for a slab style, with strong verticals and slightly lighter connecting strokes, giving letters a carved, print-like rhythm. Counters are relatively tight and apertures tend toward closed, which reinforces a compact, weighty texture in text. The lowercase has a conventional, two-storey “a” and “g,” a short-shouldered “r,” and a sturdy, slightly curved “y” descender; numerals are dense and emphatic with rounded bowls and firm slab terminals.

Well-suited to headlines, decks, and short blocks of text where a strong serif presence is desired, such as magazines, book covers, and poster work. It can also support branding and packaging that benefits from a traditional, sturdy tone and high visual impact.

The overall tone is solid and dependable, with a classic, institution-ready voice. Its weight and slab construction feel confident and traditional, suggesting heritage, craftsmanship, and a slightly collegiate or newspaper-like seriousness.

The design appears intended to modernize a classic slab-serif template by pairing hefty, bracketed serifs with slightly sharpened contrast and compact counters. The goal reads as assertive legibility and a confident, heritage-leaning voice for display and editorial settings.

In the sample text, the font produces a dark, even “color” with strong word shapes and pronounced serifs that help anchor lines. The combination of chunky slabs and moderate internal contrast adds definition at larger sizes while maintaining a firmly grounded, no-nonsense presence.
