A robust serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and sculpted, bracketed serifs that often flare into sharp triangular terminals. The letterforms show strong vertical stress and a compact internal rhythm, with relatively tight apertures and confident, weighty stems. Curves are full and rounded (notably in O/Q and the bowls of b/d/p), while joins and terminals are crisply cut, giving the face a chiseled, engraved-like finish. Numerals match the heavy presence of the capitals, with open counters and decisive, high-contrast curves.

Well-suited to headlines, deck copy, and pull quotes where its high-contrast construction and flared serifs can read as intentional style. It also fits editorial branding, book and magazine covers, and poster typography that benefits from a classic serif voice with extra impact.

The overall tone is traditional and commanding, evoking bookish authority and editorial seriousness. Its sharp, flared details add drama and a slightly ceremonial feel, making the voice feel assertive rather than delicate or casual.

The design appears intended as a conventional serif adapted for strong display presence: familiar proportions and readable forms paired with sharper, more theatrical terminals and emphatic contrast to amplify authority and visual punch.

At display sizes the triangular serifs and tapered strokes become a defining texture, producing a lively sparkle in headings. In dense settings the heavy weight and narrower apertures create a dark color, so careful tracking and generous line spacing help maintain clarity.
