A condensed serif with strong thick–thin modulation and a distinctly rough, ink-worn texture. Strokes end in sharp wedge-like serifs and tapered terminals, with subtle chipping and uneven edges that mimic distressed printing or dry brush on paper. Curves and joins show slight irregularity, giving the letterforms a lively, handmade rhythm while keeping a largely classical, vertical structure. Spacing appears relatively tight and the overall color is crisp but broken up by the textured outlines.

Best suited to display settings where the distressed texture can be appreciated—headlines, book jackets, album art, event posters, and brand marks that want a vintage or gothic-leaning tone. It can also work for short pull quotes or section titles in editorial layouts when paired with a cleaner text face. For very small sizes or low-resolution reproduction, the rough edges may close up, so it’s strongest when given room to breathe.

The font reads as antique and literary, with a slightly sinister edge created by its eroded, scratchy finish. It evokes old book typography and theatrical poster lettering, balancing refinement with grit. The mood feels dramatic and handcrafted rather than sleek or purely ornamental.

The design appears intended to merge classical serif proportions with a deliberately weathered surface, creating a historically flavored display face that feels printed, worn, and expressive. Its narrow footprint and sharp contrast support impactful titling, while the controlled irregularities add character and atmosphere.

Uppercase forms carry a stately, engraved feel, while lowercase introduces more calligraphic movement in letters like a, g, y, and f. Numerals are similarly textured and slightly varied in stance, reinforcing the imperfect, printed-by-hand impression. The distressed treatment is consistent across the set, making the texture part of the voice rather than an occasional effect.
