A compact, strongly modeled serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and crisp, bracketed serifs. The strokes show a distinctly calligraphic skeleton: round letters have deep, sculpted counters and tapered joins, while many lowercase forms (notably a, e, g) use ball-like terminals and tight apertures. Curves feel slightly pinched at stress points, giving an inked, engraved texture; diagonals and serifs end in sharp, wedge-like tips. Overall proportions are sturdy and traditional, with a steady rhythm in text despite the high contrast and heavy presence.

Best suited to headlines, pull quotes, magazine/editorial titling, and book-cover typography where its contrast and detailing can be appreciated. It can work for short passages or display-forward settings in print-like layouts, but benefits from generous size and spacing when used for continuous reading.

The face reads as formal and authoritative, with an old-style editorial tone that suggests heritage and credibility. Its dramatic contrast and sculpted details add a slightly theatrical, headline-ready richness rather than a neutral modern quietness.

The design appears intended to deliver a classic text-serif voice with heightened drama: traditional forms and bracketed serifs combined with striking contrast and sculpted terminals to create a confident, premium typographic color.

In larger sizes the fine hairlines, small apertures, and pronounced terminals become key character features, while at smaller sizes the dense weight and tight interior spaces can make texture feel dark. Numerals follow the same high-contrast, serifed construction, with a traditional, print-oriented feel.
